In Gorki Leninsky, honoring the memory of V.I. Lenin, together with an initiative group of citizens opposed to the powerful bandits who closed the school in Gorki, we held pickets at the fence around the school. Recall that in November 2018, the pro-government authorities closed the only school in the village, throwing more than 500 children into the street. The construction mafia claims 16 hectares of the square near the famous school, which was opened by Lenin and Krupskaya.
Communists of the OKP also went to the Leninskaya station, from which in January 1924 the funeral train with the body of Ilych departed. The famous station building was put up for auction at the end of 2019. On January 21, the communists, together with a group of citizens defending the right to preserve the historic building for posterity, held a rally and hoisted a red flag on the building. We strongly support the struggle to preserve our history. Together we forced the ministry of culture to consider the issue of putting the memorial-building on the register of historic sites.
Then the communists held pickets outside the administration building in defense of the Gorki Leninsky school, protesting against yet another groundless increase in fares, conducted distribution of propaganda material, and spoke with residents. Loyal guards of the regime, employees of the administration, called the police, and in every way provoked the picketers. A police officer who arrived tried to pick up Comrade T. Gorbunov for identification, but the communists of the region, led by Organizing Secretary Comrade T. Egorova, freed the comrade from the clutches of the cops.
The whole history of the communist movement around the world shows the effectiveness of collective action in achieving our goals. No one will give us deliverance except ourselves. Only the struggle wins rights.
IB Smorgonsky, Secretary of the Central Committee of the OKP
