‘Reject Association Agreement with Ukraine’: Lugansk communists’ appeal

Appeal to all political forces and activists of the Netherlands in connection with the upcoming referendum on approval of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union

March 14, 2016

We, the Communists of the Lugansk People’s Republic, appeal to all residents, political parties, social organizations and movements of the Netherlands, who are actively engaged in the debate around the April 6 referendum on approval of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, to do everything possible to prevent the approval of this agreement.

We insist that as long as the Ukrainian government is waging war on the territory of Donbass, killing civilians in violation of the UN Charter and the Minsk peace agreements, and maintains its economic and an information blockade of Lugansk and Donetsk, Ukraine has no place in the European Union!

We ask all supporters of a peaceful future for Europe to express their strong “NO” to the militaristic and misanthropic position of the Ukrainian government. Residents of the Netherlands still have time to decide their position, and we urge the political parties and activists to use this time to explain to their compatriots the criminal nature of the Ukrainian authorities, its persecution of dissidents, banning of political parties, and physical violence against the opposition.
We believe that the people of the European countries do not support the criminal policy of the president and government of Ukraine. We hope all residents of the Netherlands will help in our struggle for peace in Eastern Europe.
