Moldova: Court upholds 30-day sentence for ‘Petrenko group’ activists

Court session on case of political prisoners and former deputy Grigory Petrenko moved to Tuesday

The Chisinau Court of Appeals postponed the hearing on the case of political prisoners Grigory Petrenko and Alexander Roshko.
The hearing scheduled for Monday was postponed to Tuesday at 12:00.
On Monday, the court will hear arguments regarding the arrest of other political prisoners in the same group – Mikhail Amerberg, Pavel Grigorchuk and Vladimir Zhurat.

Unprecedented security measures at trial of political prisoners

Dozens of police carrying machine guns were dispatched to the Appeals Chamber of Chisinau, for the trial of the “Petrenko group” political prisoners.
Such forces were brought in connection with the trial in relation to three members of the “Petrenko group”: Mikhail Amerberg, Pavel Grigorchuk and Vladimir Zhurat.
They are accused of “organizing mass disorder” for attempting to set up a tent camp in front of the Prosecutor General’s office.

Sentence handed down to political prisoners met with cries of ‘Shame!’

September 14: The judicial bench of the Appeals Chamber of Chisinau upheld the verdict on the arrest of peaceful protesters as the Prosecutor General’s Office.
