June 4 — A protest entitled “Against the Arbitrariness of American Troops in Bulgaria” was held in front of the U.S. Embassy in Sofia. It was organized by the September 23 Movement.
The reason is the incident in the village of Cheshnigirovo, when U.S. soldiers participating in an exercise stormed a production workshop. The participants in the protest spoke out against the deployment of American military units in our country.
“We are against foreign military bases in Bulgaria. The Bulgarian people have never been asked and we call once again for their withdrawal,” said one protester.

“We are not a colony of the United States. Tomorrow someone may be hurt and everything will be covered up,” said another participant.
“We just think we need to stop the U.S. Embassy from interfering in our internal affairs,” said a third protester.
“Bulgaria’s sovereignty seems to be being lost,” another individual said at the protest in front of the U.S. Embassy.
