Chisinau court declared the mandate of Andrei Nestase illegal
June 19: A Chisinau court refused to recognize the legality of the election for the Mayor of Chisinau and, accordingly, the mandate of opposition candidate Andrei Nastase.
The decision was announced at about 10 pm by the judge of the Central Court of Chisinau, Rodica Berdilă, following a closed court session which lasted about 5 hours.
The decision was made at the request of the Socialist Party led by Igor Dodon.
Commenting on the court’s decision, the leader of the Dignity and Truth Platform party, Andrei Nastase, accused the court of making its ruling at the will of oligarch and leader of the ruling Democratic Party Vladimir Plahotniuc in the interests of the construction mafia, which Nastase undertook to fight.
Earlier it was reported that during the third round of the early elections for mayor of Chisinau on June 3, Ion Cheban, candidate of the Party of Socialists, supported by the ruling Democratic Party, lost to Andrei Nestase, candidate of the opposition party Dignity and Truth Platform.
According to preliminary data, after counting 100% of the protocols, Andrei Nestase scored 52.57% of the vote, while 47.43% of voters voted for Ion Cheban.

General mobilization for protests against the bandit regime of Plahotniuc!
Dear compatriots,
Yesterday, June 19, the regime of [oligarch Vlad] Plahotniuc crossed another red line, in fact, depriving citizens of their right to elect their representatives to post of authority. The failure to recognize the election results of the election for mayor of the capital under a flimsy pretext, using bought-and-paid-for courts and pseudo-opposition in the form of the Socialist Party (PSRM) and [President Igor] Dodon, is a continuation of the usurpation of power in the state by an organized criminal group of the Democratic Party (DPM) led by oligarch Plahotniuc.
The regime openly challenges all Moldovan society. Every day our rights and freedoms are taken away or restricted. With each passing day, Moldova is plunging deeper into an atmosphere of fear, dictatorship and the police state.
The history of all democracies has shown that rights and freedoms do not emerge from nowhere. They must be won and defended. Civil apathy and passivity is the path to degradation, lawlessness and dictatorship!
We call for a general mobilization of citizens to protest against the usurpation of power by the bandit group of Plahotniuc! Regardless of our political views, all free citizens of our country must rebuff the rotten corrupt system and defend the results of the popular will.
We demand that law enforcement agencies initiate a criminal investigation into the usurpation of power in the state and the immediate arrest of Plahotniuc and his henchmen!
We appeal to the international partners of our country to respond to the unprecedented actions of the Moldovan regime destroy democratic values and the remnants of the rule of law, and impose personal sanctions against the usurpers!
We are sure that mass protests, civil disobedience and resistance to the bandits in power are the only things that remain for us in the conditions of the captured state!
All out for protests!
