Moscow: Red Agenda for 100th anniversary of Russian Revolution

In December 2016 in Moscow, a number of left-wing political parties and social movements (“Alternatives” social movement, United Communist Party, Russian United Labor Front, Russian Communist Workers’ Party, Communists of Russia, communist youth, academic, philosophical and historical associations, and others) decided join forces to coordinate activities dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution.

We offer a constructive alternative to the Russian government’s attempts to establish total control over the media coverage and agenda of the Jubilee year of the Revolution, distorting the meaning and ideological content of the October Revolution, imposing on society a false view of the impact of this historic event for Russia and the world, and promoting the idea which is good for the elite, but extremely dangerous for citizens, of ​​”reconciliation” of red and white under the leadership of the “white” regime.

We offer a Red Agenda for the 100th anniversary of the Revolution:

We will only be satisfied with a Jubilee agenda that is truly revolutionary-democratic, and red.
We will tell the truth about the history of the Revolution and its lessons.
We will expose the contradictions of Russian capitalism, which threw out all the best achievements of 1917.
We will offer a constructive alternative to the current economic and cultural crisis and show what the heirs of the October Revolution can and should do in 2017.

At the press conference the RED plan to celebrate 100 years of October was announced, including more than 20 public events in various forms: conferences and round tables, radio and television broadcasts, rallies and flash mobs.

The peak of the Red Agenda will be the International Forum “OCTOBER. REVOLUTION. FUTURE.”
