Communists join events to mark Day of Liberation of Lugansk

February 14 is a very special day for Lugansk. At dawn on that day in 1943, our city was liberated from the Nazi invaders. Commemorative events dedicated to this event are held annually in Lugansk.

In 2016, the city administration is planning celebrations for the 73rd anniversary of the liberation of Lugansk from the fascist invaders:

February 12 at 11.00 – solemn laying of flowers at the May 9 Park, Pylon of Glory (Sovetskaya Street), Acute memorial complex, monument to soldiers-liberators (Defense Street);

February 13 at 10.00 – opening of the Lugansk Championship in short-distance orienteering, in the Memory Park near the M. Gorky Lugansk Universal Scientific Library;

February 15 at 13.00 – festive concert for veterans and soldiers-internationalists at the Lugansk Philharmonic Society;

February 18 at 11.00 – city athletics competitions in the Dynamo sports arena;

February 19 at 12.00 – opening ceremony of the city’s traditional boxing tournament, dedicated to the memory of soldier-internationalist Andrei Lineva, at Lugansk Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports School No. 3. Boxing competitions will also be held on Saturday, February 20.

Lugansk Communists will take part in the ceremonial laying flowers at the May 9 Park on February 12 at 11.00. In addition, throughout the holiday week, visits are planned to congratulate the veterans-liberators of Lugansk.
