By war correspondent “Fox” (Anastasia Dobrovolskaya)
The Ghost Brigade of Alexei Mozgovoi has always been distinguished by the fact that it seeks and is composed of volunteers, who come not only from Russia but also from European countries and beyond.
South America, Spain, Italy, France … The internationalist units are constantly replenished thanks to ideologically-motivated people taking up arms to defend the people of Donbass.
Modest guys who are not afraid of condemnation from governments loyal to the “European” policy of Kiev, cover their faces with an old keffiyeh or dark handkerchief, and fight on various fronts, from the information war to direct participation in hostilities.
Today we are speaking with “Rodrigo,” a volunteer who arrived from Chile.
A young guy … wearing a black beret with a red star, dark eyes, somewhat dark skin … like Che Guevara.
He modestly talks about the events he’s participated in, sometimes asking to have the question repeated: the fighter is experiencing minor difficulties communicating in Russian.
Nevertheless, he urged us to speak this language …

Chilean comrade ‘Rodrigo’ of the Ghost Brigade. |
My call sign is “Rodrigo.” I am a Chilean citizen. And a communist!
How long have you been in the militia?
Since July of last year. I began my service in the militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic. In the Khan Battalion.
What motivated you to join the ranks of volunteers?
A desire to help the people of Novorossiya. As a soldier and civilian specialist.
How has service in the militia affected you? Has your life changed?
Of course! Future plans have emerged: to organize and develop work in the information field, working with information resources and serving as a trained specialist.
What are your plans for the future?
As I said, I want to work in the information field. And to strengthen ties with fraternal peoples … Venezuela, Mexico, Spain … news, radio … to help people. And it will happen, I do not doubt. The war will end sooner or later. With our victory.
How do you see the future of the Lugansk People’s Republic?
As part of Novorossiya. A victorious state.
How do you feel about this war?
It was unleashed by the Ukro-fascists. The people did not want this war. But because of the circumstances, we are forced to defend the land of Donbass. And we will defend it as long as necessary …
What is your motto?
Homeland or Death! (Laughs) As the Cuban brothers said … Hasta la victoria siempre! We are sure to win …
They have no nationality. But they have a human heart.
So they are here …
Honor and praise them!
