Postponement of Donbass elections emboldens Kiev junta: Greek antifascists

By Solidarity with Antifascist Resistance in Ukraine (Greece)

Developments in Ukraine after the meeting of the “Normandy Quartet” are serious and do not bode well.

The People’s Republics announced today that they are postponing their scheduled elections, adapting to the decisions of the “Quartet.” Emboldened, the reactionary junta in Kiev, which came to power through a coup, bared its teeth and demanded the annulment of the previous elections held in the People’s Republics on November 2, 2014, and repeated that it will not accept any of the provisions of the Minsk agreement concerning special status for the Donbass region and amnesty for the rebels. At the same time, it legalized the use of foreign mercenaries in the army, while even now systematically violating the truce.

The situation is particularly critical and we will watch it closely. What is certain is that no just peace is possible as long as Ukraine remains under the yoke of the fascists and their patrons, the imperialists. International solidarity with the antifascists and leftist fighters of Donbass has never been more urgent.
