Moscow communists’ statement on St. Petersburg bombing

Statement of the Moscow City Committee of the United Communist Party (OKP)

On April 3, 2017, an act of terrorism was committed in the St. Petersburg Metro. The explosion killed and injured civilians. Muscovites well remember the terrorist attacks in our city. The victims were subway passengers, residents of residential districts, passers-by on the streets.
Investigations of these events have shown that they occurred most often as a result of negligence, incompetence, and corruption of officials and capitalists at different levels. Terrorists have used and exploited the quest for profit and division of peoples widespread in modern Russian society.
Communists reject terror as a means of achieving political goals — especially terror against unarmed civilians. The terrorists and their customers, inspirers and patrons should be identified and subjected to a well-deserved punishment.
The Moscow City Committee of the United Communist Party expresses its deepest sympathy to the victims of the terrorist attack in St. Petersburg, their relatives and friends, and all residents of the city of three revolutions.
