Protest leader Grigory Petrenko illegally detained in Moldova

Former MP, honorary member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, leader of the team conducting protests against the Plahotniuc and the oligarchs who’ve captured the state, Grigory Petrenko, was pulled out from the heart of the protest on Sunday, September 6th.

It happened in front of the General Prosecutor’s Office Sunday afternoon after Petrenko announced a peaceful protest tent city before the GP.

Police dragged him, together with another Red Bloc activist, Michael Amerberg, up the stairs and brought them into the building.

Later it became known that the two were taken to the Commissariat of the Riscani district of the capital.

Recall that in recent weeks, media affiliated with oligarch Plahotniuc’s holdings aired a series of libelous, defamatory materials about Petrenko, who is known for his harsh criticism of the regime of oligarchs. Some so-called experts and political analysts called for the arrest of Grigory Petrenko after he demanded to free the country from the dictatorship of Plahotniuc.
