September 3: Ukraine will participate in the biggest military exercises in the history of NATO, Trident Juncture 2015. This was announced by Acting Head of the NATO Mission of Ukraine, Egor Idol.
“Yes, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will take part in the exercise. They will be operating our military transport aircraft and possibly some other defense components, depending on the situation in eastern Ukraine,” said Idol. In addition, the leadership of the Defense Ministry and the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were invited to the training.
Trident Juncture 2015 will be held from September 28 to November 6 in Italy, Portugal, Spain, Canada, Norway, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, as well as the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The maneuvers, intended to demonstrate the readiness of NATO to respond to conditions of modern warfare, will be joined by about 36,000 troops from 30 member countries and partners.
