Ukraine planning provocations in Donbass to coincide with EU Summit

Militias urge people to exercise vigilance and caution

May 15: Intelligence services of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) have received information about the preparation of terrorist attacks by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), to then be blamed on the Donbass people’s militias. This was stated today at a press briefing by DNR Deputy Defense Minister Edward Basurin.

“Taking into account the EU Summit scheduled for May 21 in Riga, Kiev has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to take extreme steps, staging attacks against the civilian population in the territories under its control in Donbass,” he said. “According to our intelligence, the SBU today began implementing plans for a series of terrorist acts during the coming week, in order to subsequently charge us in Riga with crimes against humanity.”

In particular, according to him, such actions are planned on the roads between Mariupol-Volodarskogo and Privolnoe-Kasyanovka, as well as near the village of Stary Krym.

In these places, Basurin continued, in the next few days, land mine explosions or fire from artillery weapons on civilian buses and cars are possible.

“In order to avoid the loss of innocent people’s lives, we call on all civilians on both sides of the contact line to exercise maximum alertness and caution when traveling by car on these roads and visiting the settlements,” summed up the representative of the military department, the Donetsk News Agency reported.
