Ghost Brigade honors heroes of Debaltsevo

By Commander Alexey Markov, communist volunteer Unit 404

April 16: Today, at the headquarters of the Ghost Brigade, Commander Mozgovoi presented “70 Years of Victory” commemorative medals to two upstanding people, whose group first entered the Debaltsevo area on February 12 and worked closely with the Ghost Brigade throughout the operation to liberate the city. They are the commander of the 6th Company of the 2nd Battalion of the 4th Brigade of the Lugansk militia Roman Omelchenko, callsign “Plastun,” and the commander of the Lugansk reconnaissance corps headquarters Colonel Oleg A., callsign “Special.”

In truth, they were both worthy of the highest awards for this feat, but due to a very specific relationship to the Lugansk People’s Republic leadership, their close cooperation with the Ghost Brigade in Debaltsevo left them on the sidelines: just as the soldiers of Ghost received no official awards for the liberation of Debaltsevo, they were not awarded either. Well, to the best of our ability, we have tried to correct this injustice.

This is a case when a reward doesn’t makes the person, but the person– the reward.
Uncle Fedor, Special and Plastun at Ghost Brigade headquarters, February 14, Debaltsevo.

Plastun explains a problem to a fighter in his division. Some even know the map! 😉

Good [Alexey Markov], Arkadich [Pyotr Biryukov] and Plastun at Ghost Brigade headquarters, February 19, Debaltsevo.
