RKRP: Protest illegal repression against communists in Ukraine!

Statement of the Political Council of the Central Committee of the Russian Communist Workers’ Party (RKRP) in support of political prisoners in Ukraine.

In Ukraine, the orgy of Nazi reprisals against dissidents continues.

We still do not know the fate of Sergei Dolgov, editor-in-chief of the newspaper “I Want the USSR,” who was kidnapped by armed militants on June 18, 2014, in Mariupol. Today there are reports of new lawlessness and political killings.

There is the outrageous arrest of A.A. Majewski, editor of “Workers’ and Peasants’ Truth” and Secretary of the All Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks), who after long persecution on trumped-up charges was thrown into prison by the Ukrainian regime. In recent days, a trial has begun against Alexander Bondarchuk, illegally-arrested editor of “Working Class,” Chair of the All-Ukrainian Union of Workers and deputy of the 3rd and 4th convocation of the Verkhovna Rada.

None of these comrades are members of our party, and we disagree on certain issues. But they all boldly and courageously fought against the most flagrant violations of the rights of the working people in Ukraine, and all of them openly told the people the truth about the fascist policies of the new authorities in the pages of their newspapers. They also feared the terrorist dictatorship that prevails today in suffering Ukraine.

We believe it is our duty as Communists to raise our voice in protest against the illegal repression of these and other fighters with the reaction, to speak out in solidarity with them in the hour of adversity hanging over them and all the people of Ukraine.

We call on the people of Ukraine and all honest people of the world to stand up and fight for the liberation of comrades Dolgov, Majewski, Bondarchuk and other fighters for the cause of the working people.

Fascism must be stopped!

Workers of the world, unite!
