In Kiev, Alexander Bondarchuk, editor of Working Class, was convicted. He was on trial for articles published in the newspaper, which allegedly “indirectly (!) impinge on the territorial integrity” of Ukraine.
The mere fact of political repression against the Left in today’s Ukraine is not surprising. More interesting is the reaction of those who call themselves leftists, but put up with terror and repression against other leftists (for all our differences, Bondarchuk, of course, is a left political activist).
Most likely, Kiev’s loyal left just does not notice this trial. They will continue to “build a Ukrainian left-wing party” completely loyal and safe for the fascistic regime. Only, it may happen that when the junta “comes after them,” no one will be left to protest.
