Assassination attempt on Givi near Donetsk airport

March 19: In the area of ​​Makeyevka, Donetsk People’s Republic, an assassination attempt was made against Somalia Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Mikhail Tolstoy, known as Givi.
Unidentified persons fired at the lieutenant colonel’s car when he was driving to a militia position near the Donetsk airport.
“The attack damaged the car of Lieutenant Colonel Tolstoy. He was not injured, since at the time he was out of the car. The attackers opened fire, damaging the right side and shooting out the tail light,” a battalion spokesperson reports.
The attackers were driving a blue vehicle, license number 21099, and used 5,45 × 39 mm cartridges. After the incident, Givi returned to the car and continued on his way to the front.
Recently, in the area of Alchevsk, an assassination attempt was made against Ghost Brigade commander Alexei Mozgovoi. The car carrying the brigade commander was struck by an explosive device. Alexei Mozgovoi received a head injury, but it was not life-threatening.
