Odessa massacre organizer Goncharenko detained in Moscow

On March 1 in Moscow, during the memorial march for Boris Nemtsov, police detained Alexey Goncharenko, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

This information was confirmed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, RBC reports. “Moscow police confirmed that Goncharenko was detained. He will be handed over to representatives of the TFR [Investigative Committee of Russia] for further proceedings,” said an MIA spokesperson in the capital. The reason for Goncharenko’s detention was not given.

Konstantin Dolgov, co-chair of the socio-political movement People’s Front of Novorossiya, wrote on Twitter about the arrest of the Ukrainian deputy: “An hour ago I called upon the representatives of the Russian Federation Ministry of Internal Affairs to detain Alexey Goncharenko, guilty of burning people in Odessa on May 2.” A few minutes later, he added that Goncharenko was detained but not yet arrested.
