Stop fascism and racism — from Ferguson to Kiev

‘The bombs dropped on Vietnam explode in Harlem.’
– Martin Luther King Jr.

On February 17 in New York City, near the office of CNN, a picket was held demanding an end to the shelling of Donbass and to stop the provision of $3.5 billion in military aid from the United States to Kiev. “Say NO to another US war based on lies,” the American comrades urged. They also agitate citizens to organize actions in support of the population of Donbass on the eve of the anniversary of the fascist coup in Kiev. “Money for jobs, housing, schools and hospitals, not for war! Justice for Michael Brown and Eric Garner, not aid to fascist gangs!” — these are their demands. They call urgently for holding protest rallies to avoid open war funding, which Senator McCain and his top allies in Congress and the administration seek.

“Most people in the U.S. are unaware of Washington’s role in Ukraine. Yet every bomb that falls on children in Donbass is money stolen from hungry children here, and brings us closer to a new world war that young Black, Brown and white workers will be expected to fight – the same young people who are today resisting racist police terror and low-wage exploitation.

“It’s a critical moment to draw the connections between #BlackLivesMatter [the movement against police brutality, which arose after the murder of a Black teenager by police], #Fightfor15 [the movement for raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour] and #SaveDonbassPeople. People across Ukraine oppose the war and are challenging the latest military draft, despite state repression and fascist terror in the streets. It is urgent that anti-war and progressive people here stand up against the U.S. masterminds of Ukrainian war crimes.”
