February 4, 2015: Today, Ukrainian artillery inflicted a heavy blow on the Kirov district of the city of Donetsk, in particular on the Textilschik neighborhood. Polyclinic No. 27, School No. 22, a local kindergarten, a number of houses and civilian infrastructure were shelled.
At this point, the number of victims is still to be determined. A child is among those confirmed killed.
It is a fact that such attacks by the Ukrainian army and armed groups controlled by the Kiev regime, carried out with barbarous cruelty and lack of principle, are aimed at the civilian population, social facilities and urban life. For example, two days earlier, to seriously damage the biological treatment facilities of Donetsk National University, several plants, a number of substations and water pipelines were seriously damaged.
We are convinced that such actions by Kiev go far beyond common sense and are in violation of international law. We emphasize that the methodical shelling of civilian towns and other settlements of the Donetsk People’s Republic are crimes against humanity, all norms and principles of war, and elementary morality.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DNR demands that those responsible for these tragedies be held to full legal accountability at the international level.
