Of the 17 parliamentary deputies from Odessa, only three voted in favor of declaring the Russian Federation as the aggressor. Four did not vote for the statement, and nine people’s deputies boycotted the session of the Verkhovna Rada altogether.
This suggests that all who were elected from the Odessa region are well aware of the mood of the citizens of Odessa, are well aware that people in Odessa would not support such a decision. Odessans will never consider Russia as the aggressor, because it was not Russia that killed the citizens of Odessa on May 2, but Ukrainian nationalists! Because the majority of citizens of Odessa have been defined by an international outlook since the city’s inception!
Such declarations are meant to stir up anti-Russian hysteria, bang the heads of two brotherly peoples together, and does not contribute to the normalization of relations. The question arises: Why was this done? Who benefits? Who gave the command to make this statement against Russia, which has tried its best to help the hungry and freezing people in the Donbass?
After all, Russia today is home to thousands of refugees, whose homes were bombed and looted the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After all, it is thanks to Russia that many residents of Donbass, who have not received their pensions for more than six months, have food and warm clothes!

I do not believe in the spontaneous nature of this statement. There is a sentiment that the directive for its adoption “came down” the previous night. But if this is so, then there is no reason to say anything about Ukraine’s independence, because the Ukrainian president implicitly executes any instructions that come from Washington.
It is worth noting that even the famous Odessa traitor Alex Goncharenko did not vote for this statement. Given that Goncharenko is able to “tell which way the wind blows,” it can be assumed that Alex has begun to prepare his “escape route.” Apparently, an understanding that the reign of Peter I is coming to an end has begun to appear among the political Beau Monde of Odessa. Do not be surprised if we soon see Goncharenko wearing the St. George’s ribbon again.
Odessans have no quarrel with Russia. This is well understood by Goncharenko and the other deputies, which is why almost all of them have ignored the statement.
As for recognition of the young People’s Republics as terrorist organizations, we could not expect otherwise from this right-wing, neoliberal parliament. The only thing that comes to mind is that it was not elected by the majority of Ukrainian citizens, but an absolute minority, and hence it cannot produce solutions on behalf of the Ukrainian people.
The instigators of the conflict and the warmongers have to go! And I urge all the progressive forces of Ukrainian society to be wary of provocations by the current government authorities.
